ABOUT Jonathan P. Kinsella

I joined Hill Law Group, PA in June 2015. I received my Law degree from Stetson University College of Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012. For the last two years, I have been practicing as an Elder Law Attorney in Pinellas County. My areas of practice include Medicaid Planning, Estate Planning and Probate Administration.

In 2004, I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Legal Studies as well as a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. While working toward my law degree at Stetson, much of my upper level curriculum consisted of coursework in the area of Elder Law. In addition to the Elder Law curriculum, I had the privilege to serve as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge K. Rodney May of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. I also had the opportunity to serve as Secretary of Stetson’s Elder Law Society and Vice President of Stetson’s Maritime Law Society.

As a member of the Florida Bar, I am part of the Young Lawyers Division as well as the Elder Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Sections. My other professional memberships and affiliations include the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Florida Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Orange County Bar Association, St. Petersburg Bar Association, and Clearwater Bar Association. As a member of the Clearwater Bar Association, I served as Co-Chair of the Probate and Real Property Section for 2014-2015.

Prior to being admitted to the Florida Bar, I was employed with Costco Wholesale in Altamonte Springs, Florida for 13 years. During my time with Costco, I worked my way up to the management team and was responsible for supervising employees while also attending to the needs of day to day operations.

Growing up and throughout high school and college I was extremely active in sports such as Soccer, Hockey and Lacrosse. I received award and recognition from my high school lacrosse team for my skill and contribution as a player to the team. In college, I continued to play for a couple of seasons at the club level for the University of Central Florida Men’s Lacrosse team.

I currently enjoy spending my spare time with my wife, two boys and Doberman. Together, we enjoy activities such as boating, camping, kayaking, hiking, and ice skating. We also enjoy other activities such as longboarding, snowboarding and surfing. Over the years my wife and I have been involved in various missionary journeys to countries such as Jamaica and Costa Rica with Isle Go Missions, based out of Lake Mary, Florida.

Among my other interests is the study of Maritime History, specifically the RMS Titanic. When not outdoors or in the office, I devote a substantial amount of my time to the study of the ship itself as well as the story behind its contemplation, construction and eventual foundering. Another area of interest is the study of the history of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with a specific focus on the Troubles.
